About Me, Galea

I create original paintings in acrylic on canvas. I mainly paint in the post-impressionist style, to which I add my own, distinctive, twist. I also sculpt in stoneware clay. My small sculptures often feature mythological and animal subjects. Stoneware clay is a great material for garden wares, so I also hand make toadstools, poppies, bird feeders and other decorative pieces for patios and gardens.

I am a member of the Hive creative community in Shipley, West Yorkshire and the Northern Potters Association, as well as the Craft Potters Association.

In 2017, and again in 2019, three of my works were on public exhibition in Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Lister Park, Bradford and in 2019 my entry was awarded second prize in the prestigious 2019 Bradford Open Art Competition.

My work has also been exhibited at Cupola Contemporary Art Gallery in Sheffield, The Water Street Gallery, Todmorden and The Open Gallery in Halifax.
